Common spine tumors include meningiomas(tumors which grow from the coverings of the brain and spine), schwannomas(tumors which grow from the nerves), metastasis(cancerous tumors which spread from other parts of the body to the brain/spine.

Common symptoms patients can have include: severe headaches and pain over the neck, back area which progressively gets worse. Other symptoms include progressive limb weakness, or numbness.

What will the Specialist Doctor do for me?

We will do a clinical examination, assessment and recommend appropriate radiological investigations such as CT Brain scans, or MRI Spine scans. Early detection and treatment are important to ensure a good outcome for patients.

What are the latest treatments available?

Previous surgery methods had longer skin incisions, and higher complication rates. Currently, we have new types of minimally invasive surgical treatment and computer technological aids to help us achieve successful removal of such tumors.
